Airman shot dead in bar brawl

ANGELES CITY — A member of the Philippine Air Force was killed in a shooting incident in Barangay Balibago here Monday, reports said.
Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Recomono, Angeles City Police chief, identified the victim as Airman 1st Class Mary Jane Tagbe, male, of legal age, and assigned at the 1st Air Division, Clark Field.
According to elements of Police Station 4, the shooting incident transpired around 2 a.m. of August 22 in front of the Lovely Girl Videoke Restaurant along the MacArthur Highway, Barangay Balibago.
Restaurant manager Lhea Abana, 34, told the police that before the shooting incident, there was an argument between the victim’s group and another group identified with a certain “Renz”.
Based on Abana’s statement, the two groups went out of the restaurant to settle the argument. Moments later, she heard three successive gunshots.
Upon peeping at the gate, she saw Tagbe facedown. She immediately called for police assistance.
“Elements of Police Station 4 responded to the scene but the suspects already fled on board a black TMX towards the city proper,” Recomono said.
Tagbe was rushed to the Air Force City Hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to lone gunshot wound on his forehead.
Recovered from the scene were three deformed empty shells of .45 caliber.
The three unidentified suspects are now subjects of a manhunt, Recomono said. (Au Catu)
