Having so many famous and beautiful beaches, it’s not possible to list them all, but here are some of the more popular of them that have caught the eyes of the tourists.
I have found that many people have different ideas of what their favorite beach is; therefore what I list here might not be the favorite of another.
Kuta Beach – Dare I say that this is the most famous of all Bali beaches? Very crowded and heavily commercialized, Kuta beach has lots of white sand and is a surfer’s paradise. A short distance from the airport, the town of Kuta is just the type of place that the young would love with its thriving night life, restaurants and night clubs, packed with shops and holiday makers to create a carnival atmosphere.
Jimbaran Beach – Definitely for the romantic couples who can watch some spectacular sunsets while dining on the beach. You can select the fish you want cooked while listening to live music as the sun begins to dip slowly towards the ocean at the end of the day.
Nusa DuaBeach – Have your wallet stacked if you are visiting this beauty spot because Nusa Dua is all about luxury. Good for honeymooners too who can afford to throw their dollars around. Clean sandy beaches and exclusive resorts will give you value for money. Wonderful place for divers and surfers who can afford to spend the whole day in the water.
Sanur Beach – If crowded beaches are not your thing, Sanur beach on the east cost is just the place to spend a holiday with your family. Great place for walking and riding, and famous for windsurfing, kids can have fun while the parents will be able to have a relaxing vacation.
Lovina Beach – For some, this is the best beach of all because it’s different from the rest. The volcanic black sand here is a far cry from the beaches at Kuta. Another great place for a family holiday where you can watch the resident dolphins do their tricks or even hire a boat to take you out to the sea to watch them frolicking. Popular with water sports enthusiasts as well, they come here for snorkeling, diving and relaxing.
Pasir Putih – A beautiful little gem of a beach isolated and tranquil with nothing special to bring the masses. Yet, this is what paradise is all about. So unspoilt, that locals will prepare and serve you food and drinks while you relax under a beach umbrella or on a lounge as you watch the water lapping the shore and the emerald green of the headlands merge with the azure blue of the sky. Time has no meaning here as you nod with drowsy contentment as the coconut palms wave lazily in the air fanning your face with its gentle breeze.
There’s so much more in Bali. But I’ll let you dream among the palm fringed beaches and crystal clear waters as you sip an ice cold drink with a garland of jasmines around your neck and the scent of the frangipani hanging in the air. What else could it be, but Utter Bliss!
