Government rushes aid to ‘Juaning’ victims

ANGELES CITY — Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan will deliver his State of the City Address (Soca) dubbed “Handa Na Tayong Lumipad – Ulat sa mga Angelenyo” at the activity center of MarQuee Mall in Barangay Pulung Maragul here at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Putting in deeds what has been promised in the Contract with the Angeleños, Pamintuan’s speech will highlight major accomplishments during his first year in office as the city’s chief executive.
The programs include solid waste management, environmental protection, provision of quality education and essential social services, improved traffic condition, maintained peace and order, better business and livelihood opportunities, and enrichment of culture and the arts, among others.
Pamintuan is also expected to cite the delivery of efficient and extensive health care services as one of his administration’s most salient achievements—the recent establishment and full operation of the Angeles City Renal Care Unit at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) that cater to indigent patients who suffer from renal diseases.
He will also mention his administration’s efforts in implementing fiscal reforms and the restored trust and confidence of the local residents to the City Government.
“The measure of our success is not by what’s in the City Government’s balance sheets but by how the assets have been used efficiently to benefit the Angeleños,” Pamintuan said.
The mayor will also announce the accomplishments of various City Government offices in reporting what they have done since July 2010 to June this year.
Guests from the economic, business, socio-cultural, academe, heads of government offices, non-government organizations (NGOs) of the city are invited to attend the Soca.
Vice Mayor Vicky Vega Cabigting will also deliver a message on behalf of the City Council and will officially introduce Pamintuan during the event.
