Guv thanks Panlilio, Aquino in state address

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Governor Lilia Pineda on Monday thanked former governor Eddie Panlilio and President Benigno Aquino III during her first State of the Province Address (Sopa).
Pineda thanked Panlilio for leaving behind millions of funds intact and Aquino for the support he has given to Pampanga.
During Pineda’s Sopa delivered before hundreds of constituents at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center Monday morning, she said Panlilio’s leaving behind intact funds has helped her administration deliver much needed basic services, particularly on health and education.Funds left by Panlilio reportedly include some P65 million in calamity budgets.In an interview after her Sopa, Pineda told media men: “The funds left intact by Governor Panlilio have been helpful in addressing the needs of Kapampangans. Still, much of those funds remain intact and records show that the more than 11,000 we have assisted in a year for various cases are documented for transparency. It has been a fruitful year for us.”
“Patuloy tayong tutulong sa ating mga kababayan sa darating pang mga taon at sila ay makakaasa sa atin sa Kapitolyo ng mas mahusay na serbisyo, (We will continue to help our constituents in the coming years and I assure everyone of the best services of the Capitol),” Pineda said.
Meanwhile, Pineda has thanked Aquino for the P10 million worth of projects that rehabilitated infrastructures destroyed by typhoon ‘Ondoy’ in 2009.
Pineda also said P500 million worth of agricultural assistance was given by the National Government to the province. About 8,200 PhilHealth cards have also been distributed to Kapampangans.
Aquino from the Liberal Party has gathered the most number of votes in the province during the 2010 elections, outscooping Lakas-Kampi presidential candidate Gilbert Teodoro.
Pampanga is a known turf of the Lakas-Kampi party.
