BACOLOR — Kapampangan crafts, delicacies and products will be the highlight of the upcoming trade fair hosted by the Provincial Government of Pampanga here in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on June 15.
According to Gov. Lilia Pineda and Trade Fair coordinator board member Monina Laus, the trade fair will be held at the San Guillermo Parish Church here in bid to highlight the significance of the town in the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.

Pineda told Sun.Star Pampanga in an exclusive interview in her home in Lubao town that the trade fair will bring together all products from different towns in the province in one venue for local residents who will participate in the June 15 celebration.
“The event will feature products like furniture, pastries and other crafts that Kapampangans are famous for. We want to make the event festive in the celebration of the Kapampangan spirit. We have so much to be thankful for in this celebration,” Pineda told Sun.Star Pampanga.
The Governor added that the trade fair aims to draw attention to Bacolor and to the hardships it has endured during the eruption of the Mt. Pinatubo. It could be remembered that the town was virtually wiped out from the map when it was buried in 30 feet of lahar after the eruption.
Majority of Bacolor’s population still remains in resettlement areas. Pineda said the trade fair is also a reminder to Bacoloreños to visit their hometown on June 15 and contemplate on resettling permanently in their respective barangays.
Meanwhile, Laus said the event is also a celebration of Kapampangan creativity and ingenuity. She said the trade fair calls attention to the promotion of Kapampangan-made products.
“Let us support our local industries and patronize our own products,” Laus said.
The trade fair will open at the San Guillermo Parish patio after the commemorative walk to be initiated by Pineda and the Pampanga Provincial Board.
Simultaneous masses, in all Pampanga Parishes, will also be held in celebration of the event.
