N.C. wine industry is growing

(RALEIGH) — North Carolina made wines are attracting more interest on store shelves. Mark Friszolowski with the North Carolina Wine and Grape Council said while North Carolina wineries may not compete with those in other parts of the country, interest in the product is growing.
“The producers are fairly small, so we don’t extend that far although we do quite a good business in Virginia and South Carolina. We opened up new markets this year and believe it or not one place where there has been a tremendous interest is China, so we’re kind of proud to be shipping some profits that way,” said Friszolowski.
