MANILA — Malacanang hoped for the best for the Philippine football team Azkals in its fight against Sri Lankan Brave Reds at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, Sunday.
“We wish the Azkals good luck. We are already proud of you,” deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said over government-run Radyo ng Bayan.
“We hope that you do more for the country and mag-iingat kayo sa paglalaro,” she added.
The Azkals are fighting with Brave Reds to secure a slot for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after having a 1-1 draw fight last Wednesday.
The Azkals are confident in defeating Sri Lanka, citing hometown advantage.
