Quota International holds medical mission with farmers party

THE Quota International of Pampanga hosted on Monday in Angeles City the second in a series of medical and social services mission at Barangay Pulong Maragul here in cooperation with the Butil Farmers Party.
According to Quota Pampanga president Jennifer Bonifacio, the event featured the supplemental feeding of some 70 undernourished children, medical check-ups and distribution of basic medicines.
The event was attended by officers of Quota Pampanga and Butil Representative Agapito “Pits” Guanlao.
“We also conducted the de-worming of some 60 children and provided free check-ups to seniors and local residents,” Bonifacio said.
Medicines and multivitamins were also distributed during the activity.
The mission is part of the annual line-up of events of Quota Pampanga for its beneficiary communities.
The group partnered with Butil Farmers Party to further bring the medical mission to more communities. The Butil Farmers Party sponsors part of the logistics and supply requirements of the mission.
A similar mission was also held by the two organizations in Barangay Maimpis in the City of San Fernando last August 20.
Guanlao, for his part, said Butil believes in the advocacies of Quota Pampanga. He stressed that Butil community programs are now reaching more target communities with the help of Quota.
“Butil also hosts such kinds of programs. It is good to find an organization that shares the same interests for the community as Butil. We hope to continue serving more communities with Quota Pampanga,” Guanlao said.
The two groups are now organizing the next medical mission for September.
Quota International, founded in 1919, is an international service organization that links members of all ages, occupations, and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship. The organization found its way into Pampanga in the early 90’s experiencing modest membership from local women. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
