Two unidentified Aetas found dead in Bataan

DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — Men clearing a portion of a mountainous area in this town on Friday discovered two still unidentified Aeta natives sprawled dead beneath tall grasses with gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies.
Senior Superintendent Arnold Gunnacao, Bataan police director, said the men were readying the area for tree planting when they found the bodies of the two Aetas in the mountain of Purok 6, Barangay Roosevelt here.
Gunnacao said he asked the leaders of Aeta tribes here to identify the victims but it proved negative.
He ordered the Dinalupihan police to coordinate with counterparts in Olongapo City to contact Negrito leaders in the Zambales area for possible identification of the two Aetas.
Superintendent Robin King Sarmiento, Dinalupihan police chief, said one of the victims with two gunshot wounds – one at the right temple and another at the right lower neck – was between 20 and 25 years old and about five feet three inches tall.
The second victim, about 40 years of age and stood about five feet, sustained a gunshot wound at the left cheek.
Police investigators said they were still waiting for the autopsy report to ascertain the gun used and the estimated time of the killing.
Attendants from the Del Carmen Funeral Homes estimated that the victims were probably killed the night before their bodies were discovered.
