‘Bourne’ trailer helps promote country: Palace
MALACANANG lauded Sunday the recently released trailer of “The Bourne Legacy,” saying the film would be a big help in promoting the country.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said the trailer would help increase competitiveness of the Philippines as a film location destination.
“Even if you don’t use the trailer as an advertisement, it will certainly speak volumes for the country to become a film location. That’s really is an ad in itself so to speak and it complements to our efforts on tourism campaign,” Valte said.
The new trailer features several chase scenes shot in various locations in Manila such as Jones Bridge, Leveriza Street and Navotas Fish Port. Part of the film was shot in Manila for two months and its final scene was shot in Palawan.
Valte said even the cast and crew of the movie have nothing but good words for the Philippines.
“The cast and crew spoke highly of our people because they stayed here for a long time. They have a lot of good things to say even in the Filipino actors that they worked with the degree of professionalism and the warmth of the people,” she said.
The Palace official described the movie as “exciting,” adding she was glad to see the scene where there were jeepneys, which is the most popular means of public transportation in the Philippines.
“The Bourne Legacy” is the fourth installment of the Bourne Identity series, which starred Matt Damon. It will be shown on August 3 in the United States
