CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Mayor Oscar Rodriguez led on Tuesday the launching of the P4 million-worth amphitheater at Heroes Hall that will become the venue for the city’s cultural performances, concerts and social activities.
With Rodriguez during the inauguration were Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham) president Rene Romero and wife Agnes of ImaArti, City Administrator Ferdinand Caylao, Councilors Ruping Dumlao, Lito Ocampo, Reden Halili, Alex Patio, ABC president and Barangay Sindalan chief Arnel Sicat, Legal Officer Ramsey Ocampo, members of the Multi-Sectoral Governance Council, City Tourism Officer Ching Pangilinan and selected guests.
After the inauguration, the very first show, “A Little Night of Broadway,” was staged featuring Fernandino talents led by the city’s artistic powerhouse team of Professor Edwin Lumanog (brass band), Norily Baluyut (voice) and Jayar Hipolito (theater).
Rodriguez said the facility has a seating capacity of 300. He added that the facility is the first sophisticated amphitheater in the city and can host cultural events and even concerts.
Rodriguez said the City Government is also working on tie-ups with non-government groups here to sponsor cultural presentations at least once a month.
The mayor said they are looking at partnerships with the PamCham, Laus Group of Companies, Soroptimist Club and the Knights of Columbus.
