Man stabbed dead in Mabalacat

MABALACAT — A 45-year-old man was stabbed to death along 16th Street in Mawaque Resettlement Center here at dawn on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Sonny Pascual, 46, of the resettlement site, was reportedly stabbed several times on the body by a lone attacker around 1 a.m.

Supt. Rolly Bautista, town police chief, said they are still establishing the identity of his killer, as well as the motive behind the killing.

Sun.Star learned that witnesses are pinpointing to a certain Jeric Laderas as reportedly behind the stabbing. Laderas has denied the accusation.

Mendoza said they are still awaiting the testimonies of the witnesses. From there, he added, the town police will determine what case will be filed against the attacker.
