New school gets P3M from Capitol
SAN LUIS — The Provincial Government recently promised to allocate P3 million to cover half of the actual selling price of a lot occupied by the newly established San Luis High School, formerly known as A. Gonzales Sioco High School here.
Governor Lilia Pineda said Tuesday that the Capitol is determined to invest for the education of the young.
“Nung alang pormal a edukasyun, alang masanting a kinabukasan,” Pineda told the officials and parents during the launching of the new school.
The Municipal Government here started earlier negotiations with owners A. Gonzales Sioco High School for possible takeover in the amount of P6 million.
The other P3 million will be shouldered by the local government here. It will be taken from the local government’s Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).
As this developed, Mayor Venancio Macapagal lauded Governor Pineda for her show of concern for the education of the students in this town.
It was also learned that more than 400 students are currently enrolled in this newly opened public school.
Macapagal and members of the Municipal Council saw this as a good investment since it would benefit the youth of San Luis and decided to push through with the project.
“Para ya kareng anak ini, keng kinabukasan da,” Macapagal declared.
Meanwhile, Pineda and the Municipal Government vowed to shoulder the teachers’ salaries and operational expenses while waiting for the budget approval from the National Government.
Joining the governor during the launch were Board Members Nestor Tolentino, Ricardo Yabut, Monina Laus, Trina Dizon, Fritzie David Dizon, members of the Municipal Council, parents and students.
