PamCham lauds outgoing Public Works chief

CLARK FREEPORT — The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PamCham) recognized the achievements of outgoing Public Works Regional Director Alfredo Tolentino in the implementation of infrastructure projects here.
Tolentino will vacate his post after his promotion as Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) undersecretary.
According to PamCham vice chairman Rene Romero, the recognition is in honor of Tolentino’s political will to pursue infrastructure development, taking into consideration the general good of the community.
“Some people may say that he is leaving the DPWH because he is being removed. The truth is it is a well-deserved promotion and inasmuch as we want him to stay, we cannot deny him the chance to grow professionally,” Romero said.
He said Tolentino has been a good partner of the business sector and has steered the DPWH-Central Luzon to attain impressive accomplishments in terms of implementing infrastructure programs.
Under Tolentino’s term, the regional office was awarded by the DPWH national office as “Outstanding Implementer of Infrastructure Projects.”
In an interview, Tolentino thanked the PamCham for its support to DPWH’s programs.
He said while his stint here ends, he will still be supporting infrastructure projects for Pampanga in any capacity he can.
He also said the DPWH here is set to reconstruct 12 bridges for further improvement and upgrading.
