Pampanga guv turns over bunkhouses

ARAYAT –Governor Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda led on Wedneday the turnover of the 64 units of bunkhouses for landslide victims in Barangay San Juan Baño, this town.
Pineda said the project was realized through the joint efforts of all officials in the province.
She said that the construction of the bunkhouses was funded by the Provincial Government while Third District Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. purchased the lot for the victims.
Meanwhile, Gonzales’ chief of staff assured the victims that the lawmaker will continuously support them until they fully recover from the tragedy.
It can be recalled that the ground breaking ceremony was held last September 26 and in less than three months, all 64 units of bunkhouses were constructed.
The Provincial Government spent more than P5.7 million in the construction of the houses and while Gonzales shelled out P1.5 million for the lot.
“It’s a dream come true! I thought I will die homeless after that landslide destroyed our house last year.” Bernabe Parel, 65, a beneficiary said, adding that he was thankful.
Joining Pineda during the turn over ceremony were Board Members Ricardo Yabut, Monina Laus, Trina Dizon, Raul Macalino, Tars Halili, Mayor LuisEspino, Vice-Mayor Hilario Trinidad, members of the Sangguniang Bayan and San Juan Baño Barangay Captain Luisito Portacio.
