Police charge 2 minors in murder case

MAGALANG — The town police have charged two minors in connection with a recent slaying in this town.

Superintendent Ferdinand Perez, Magalang police chief, said they have filed murder charges against two minors involved in the killing of Recsan Loneza Toledo, 16, a senior student of Magalang National High School.

The girl’s body was found in a rice field along the Santo Nino-Balitucan Road in Barangay San Ildefonso here on Tuesday.

Perez said the suspects attempted to rape Toledo but failed because the victim resisted.

The suspects were able to take the knife Toledo was carrying for self defense.

Perez confirmed Toledo’s knife was used by the suspects to stab her numerous times in the body and neck.

Aside from the two minors, the town police had earlier invited at least three persons, another two minors and a 23-year-old man, for questioning in connection with the case. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
